When people hear I am from Hawai’i, they most often ask me if there is a Hawaiian language. There is a Hawaiian language, but most people do not speak it. People more commonly speak in a dialect called Hawaiian pidgin. Pidgin is a complicated language. There are tons of pidgin words that are connections of English words and even some that are derived from other languages. Roll over the "Language" tab to read and learn more about both pidgin and Hawaiian dialect.
